Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

The address of this location is a bit convoluted, and I've had trouble finding it both times I visited. It's easier to input it into the GPS/Google Maps as 115 S Jordan Creek Pkwy. I'd highly recommend getting something with their fresh-made tortillas -- they're soft and tender and make you realize just how inferior all other tortillas you've eaten truly are. Another plus is that they mix the burrito filling before rolling it up, so you don't have to worry about alternating between mouthfuls of rice and mouthfuls of salsa. For the price ($6.25), what more could you ask for?

Food is good. But extra dollar for spoon full of meat and guac is a ripoff... And your servers are not welcoming not friendly. Go for the food, beware the extras and don't tip if they are rude.

As of recent this location seems to be getting really stingy with their toppings. I brought friends in for the first time and they barely put any cheese on their burrito and then charged .50 more for another sprinkle. Needless to say my friends were unimpressed. Also my husband picked me to a chicken quesadilla the other night nd I asked for double meat. The quesadilla literally had about 15 small squares of chicken on it. It was basically a cheese quesadilla. Chipolte is much better!

I've never been to a Chipotle before, but I assume this is the equivalent to that. I had a chicken bowl, which was tasty. Decided I should have gotten a burrito when I saw someone else eating one at a neighboring table. It was big, and very tasty looking. Still, not bad and I enjoy trying new places that we don't have back at home.

OK, so this place is a cookie cutter of Chipotle/Qdoba. I am not a tremendous fan of either of those restaurants but they exist and are a known commodity. I would have preferred one of those other restaurants. My burrito was about 80% rice and beans and about 20% meat, this proportion is incorrect if one wants to enter burrito nirvana.

My husband had been to Panchero's before and has talked about burritos as big your head. We liked it. The food was fresh and delicious. Way better than any other fresh food mexican.

At first blush this looks like Iowa's regional answer to Chipotle. From the website: "We make the dough for our tortillas right here in the restaurant. Then we prepare your tortilla at the time of your order, right before your eyes, in our special tortilla press. We fill the tortilla just as you like, using quality ingredients such as Marinated and Grilled Steak, Chili-tamarind Chicken, Cilantro-lime Rice, Freshly made Guacamole and Hot Tomatillo Salsa." Sound familiar? Down to the menu offerings, the concept is an obvious mimicry of Chipotle, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Remember when the Simpsons go to the outlet mall and all the brands seem slightly off? "Panaphonics...Sorny?" That's the central Iowa experience in a nutshell. Still, your Sorny might well be a great appliance, just as Panchero's does serve great burritos. (It's a national chain whose founding actually predates Chipotle's, by a year, but I've never seen one in in Illinois or anywhere else, and I think Chipotle "hit" first.) I stand by my barbacoa, but everything here came out hot, fresh and fast at good low Middle West prices. I loved my burrito and blue-corn chips. Nothing will replace Chipotle in my heart, but Panchero's is still pretty damn good. Anthropological note: our servers comprised the only two Mexicans I have seen in Iowa so far.
